2024-06-01: Diners, Drive-Ins, Dungeons, Dragons, and/or Dives

Only the second option of the five listed in the title is of any particular relevance. I visited the Mahoning yesterday (by the time this gets published), and saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind (dir. Steven Spielberg, 1977). It had a lot more product placement than I remember from when I was a little kid, but the ending was just as stunning. I couldn’t stay for the second feature of the night, Fire in the Sky (dir. Robert Lieberman, 1993), which is actually what I was looking forward to. I have a busy day tomorrow.

But my day being busy isn’t the primary reason I left. No, that’s because I miss someone in particular, and I’ve been clinging desperately to my memories of our time together like a castaway caught in a storm clinging to a lifesaver and trying to remain above water.

Such is life, I guess. Can’t have nothing in Pennsylvania.

Anyway, I have Cyberpunk tomorrow, but I’m not sure if I can make it for Pathfinder. We’ve been hired to kill Brandon’s character’s (his current one, since Samson’s been Phineas Gage’d) ex, and using the powers of catfishing and explosives we’ve ended up walking into a trap, but we know we’re walking into a trap, so the question is do they know that we know that it’s a trap?

Anyway, when not narrowing down my job options I’ve been working out more than usual. My current strategy is to take heavy objects and throw them around my yard in the middle of the night. I’d do it during the day but it’s summer. In Pennsylvania. During the climate crisis. And it is a popular and well-known fact that I am a human furnace.
