Yeah, I’d give it a 3.5/5.
My write-on materials were due at 8 PM last night, and yet again I managed to astonish by submitting at the last possible minute. That trait needs to be studied in a lab, I swear. In hindsight, I took far too many notes, more than I’d ever actually need to argue my point, and didn’t spend enough time actually writing my argument. But it’s submitted, so fingers crossed that actually clearing that threshold helps my chances. I’ve heard that not everyone actually completes the write-on. It’s a shame I can’t discuss the materials, lowkenuinely. Lowkirkenuinely™, as the young people say.
Afterward, as my blood was caffeinated and my heart was beating like a hummingbird’s wings, I crashed. Not immediately, but without the anchor of law review, I had boundless energy and nowhere to direct it. I slept about nine to ten hours last night, waking up at 8 AM exactly; I just got out of the shower.
I wrote this passage earlier in the week:
Tuesday, the 19th of May

The duskward sky was lit up by billowing blue fire, or so the clouds appeared when I left the law building to get some dinner, my hair and clothes swept about by the hot summer wind. I skipped lunch; the cart I wanted to order from was empty, so after waiting a bit for the cook to return without success, I just went straight to work. As I write this, it’s half past seven, and I’m finishing up my case note. Taking five dozen pages of detailed notes was a wise choice, in that I basically just have to assemble what I already wrote like LEGO bricks, then polish.
(Editor’s Note: Taking five dozen pages of detailed notes was a poor choice.)
As I write this, it’s been about an hour since. I decided to make my way back to Anova since the vibe felt like a thunderstorm was coming. I got an ice cream cone on the way back, cherry dipped, and the sky was lilac and magenta and violet and shades of pink that Anish Kapoor is legally barred from using.
As I write this, it is half past noon. I had a light breakfast of fruit (blueberries, dried apricots) and cheese (Swiss, cheddar). I’m debating whether to get/make lunch or wait until dinner; as I’m DMing tonight, I’m either gonna make something to bring or order pizza. I’m thinking we’re gonna have a larger turnout than usual, given the miniboss I have planned in the wreck of the Morning Star, so pizza sounds appealing. I’m happy my eyeballed population estimate of 2.5k for the town of Naranjgrad is pretty much spot on, given the Duskmarch’s [lack of] population density (~0.962 people per square mile).

Yesterday morning, I woke up very early to watch “Blood and Bone,” the long-awaited series finale for Eric Kripke’s loose adaptation of “The Boys.” It was about as satisfying a finale as we could get, considering… everything this season. The problem is that there’s like three and a half good seasons (four and a half if you count the first season of Gen V) plus hype that’s been building since the start, so if you’re expecting more than likable mediocrity, you’ll be disappointed and justifiably so. The biggest problem is that they’d have more time to work with if they didn’t waste most of the season setting up a spin-off (Vought Rising), which is probably gonna bomb, so Creep Key has to pull a lot of plot points directly out of his rear to compensate. You can also tell that they ran out of budget and, quite frankly, couldn’t do the finale they were setting up.
Will I watch Vought Rising? Probably not.
Will Vought Rising even be made? Also, probably not considering the budget cuts this season and Amazon canceling Gen V.
Kravo Bripke, now my YouTube Shorts wants me to watch Supernatural (2005-20). I already had my Shorts wanting me to rewatch Doctor Who (1963-89, 2005-present), now all I need is Sherlock (2010-17), and I’ll have been transported back to early 2010s Tumblr. Truly, this is what Clara would’ve wanted.
