As I write this, it’s 94 degrees Freedom outside, or about 35 degrees Commie, but it feels like 96 °F (36 °C). Which is to say that I’m remaining indoors until dusk, more or less. Fine by me, I have work to get done; on that note, I’m almost done with the Law Review packet, meaning I can get to actually writing the damn thing; I’m more than well-prepared, and after the readings, I’m much better informed on the topic than I was when I started.
Lunch today was a combination (chicken/lamb) tikka masala from the Indian cart and a piece of garlic naan. It was excellent. I’ve been eating more red meat recently; ever since I got my cardiovascular health under control, I’ve been allowing myself that indulgence. Not sure if I’ve mentioned it yet, but food has started to have taste again, although my appetite’s still far less than it used to be. That’s a good thing, though. Speaking of indulgence, yesterday I saw an Instagram reel and was inspired to replicate it: someone made a box of Kraft Dinner using White Monster instead of water. The end result was shockingly good taste-wise, but also considerably more filling than regular KD, probably because the pasta was boiled in stimulants instead of water.
Would I make this regularly? Hell no.
Would I make this even occasionally? Also no.
Was it worth the try? Yes.
I’ve been trying to live by a new motto recently: you can just do things. I can’t remember where I first heard it, or who coined it, and though we live in an age where ignorance is a choice, I’m gonna choose ignorance because it really doesn’t matter who realized it. Too long I’ve fettered myself, thinking that I have to do this or have to do that. Here’s to the thought of just doing things.
I don’t have to do law review, but I want to, so I’ll get back to it soon. Might update later, might not. I’ll do it if I want to. The sunbeans piercing the skylight in the LRC are really bright.
