The synchronicities keep piling up. At this point, I might as well buy a lottery ticket and set my birthday as the numbers, although if I had a nickel for every bizarre coincidence I’ve noticed this week, I wouldn’t need the ticket.
Life’s been going well, although I’ve been busier this week than I anticipated, and my sleep quality has been proportionally abysmal. My lack of good sleep has been affecting my appetite in weird ways, although my weight loss has continued without issue. While waiting for dinner (I had some Pad See Ew) after classes yesterday, I saw my reflection in the glass and liked what I saw. And apparently, a bunch of people on Insta liked it too when I shared it on my story.
I have two classes today, PR and Con Law. I was held up with other matters and missed the first half of the Unabomber case (U.S. v. Kaczynski, 239 F.3d 1108 [9th Cir. 2001]) in PR. Personally, I found Reinhardt’s dissent considerably more persuasive than the court’s opinion. We then moved from 1.14 to 1.6 (confidentiality) and looked at State v. Branham, 952 So. 2d 618 (Fla. Dist. Ct. App. 2007). I, for one, am shocked, shocked that telling your lawyer buddy you’re gonna kill your wife isn’t protected by the attorney-client privilege. Basically, just because Kelly was a lawyer and represented the defendant on civil matters before doesn’t mean that the defendant was a Client Communicating Confidentially with Counsel to obtain Counsel, in the words of the professor. In Con Law, we’re moving past the New Deal ICC cases and into the 20th century.
Anyway, after Con Law, my schedule’s pretty tight; my Spelljammer group finally has a night where we’re all free, so that’s fun. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to cook something for the group. Probably pasta; I have a lot of pasta in my pantry. Knowing everything else this week, I’ll either have a string of Nat 20s or a string of Nat 1s.
And yet somehow, even with so much Happening™, I’m bored.
